Here in West Virginia there are two laws ON THE BOOKS that are absloutely ridiculas

After being asked a question about laws here in WV I set on the task of reserching laws that are currently on the books in this state.  I cam up with 2 that blow my mind.  Though I'm sure that by now these 2 laws have met with some resistance they are still on the record as being legal.

The FIRST LAW has to deal with Beastiality and is a Statewide law; According to the codes it is LEGAL for a man to have sex with any animal he wishes as long as it weighs under 40lbs.

The SECOND LAW is a Domestic Violence Issue and it is local to Huntington;  it give a Husband the right to beat his wife but.... only under specific circumstances.  He must beat her on a Sunday Morning between the hours of 8:00am and 12:00pm on the steps of the County Courthouse which is in Downtown Huntington.

I can picture it now............

There are or were Hillbilly Lawmaakers in Charleston who have or had a hankering to have sex with Chickens so they sat down during one Legislative Session and hammered out a law giving them and other men statewide the right to screw their chickens instead of their wives if they so desired.

Then comes along Lawmakers on the Local Level in Huntington who hated it when thier wives caught them in the Henhouse plucking around with the egg layeers and either bitching about it or ouright killing their husbands prized piece of ass. SO..... they pass a law giving them the right to beat their wives should they be caught screwing their hens.

There are other laws in the state that are rediculas but nonetheless there in the books. but, those two have to be the winners of the Award for Most Ignorant.

Missing You
Mood:  blue
Now Playing: Love Songs
Topic: Thoughts on Love

My Angel Leigh Ann, how I miss you so! No amount of words can express the loneliness I feel.  It's been 52-months since I've held you tightly in my arms and whispered those three words that I love to put in your ear.

What "THEY" did to us wasn't and isn't fair. They've destroyed the happiness of two people only because of their biggoted minds and now two people who love each other endlessly are kept apart. It hurts me just as much today as it did 52 months ago and the loneliness keeps getting worse by the day.

Though I doubt that "THEY" will ever permit it, I long for the day when I'll once again be allowed to draw you near, wrapping you in my arms and whispering in your ear, "I Love You Dear, Now and forwver I"m yours".  If I'm never allowed to do it in what's left of my life, you can rest assured that my dying thoughts will be;

Leigh Ann, I've loved you since the day we met and that love has grown stronger every day. I love you now with my last dying breath and I'll love you even after I'm gone!"

What Happened To It?
Mood:  quizzical
Topic: Thoughts about Life

What ever became of those days when parents knew how to make their kids behave?

When I was growing up back in the age of the Dinosouse when I misbehaved I was given plenty of opportunity to "Straighten up" before I paid dire consequences.  If I didn't the result useually ended up with my rubbing my ass and crying.  That isn't the case today as everyone knows and, look at what it's done to today's kids.

I'll admit it, my father went overboard sometimes when beating my ass and, it left me with emotional scars BUT I got the message too.  The message being; "I got what I deserved for disobeying" I've grown into what I personally feel is a Responsible Adult, one who respects authority and, I stive to be a Peace Loving person.  Which I can see isn't where most of the kids today are headed.

You can't spank your kids today for fear of prosicution. Child Psychologists and others in conjunction with Lawmakers have outlawed it.  The only recourse open to you these days it to Yell at them and, we all know what good yelling does now don't we?  Yelling can also be construed as "Abuse" especially if you use what can be considered as "Hurtful" tones or words, so in many cases that's not even an option for disaplining your kids. What are we to do then?  Unfortunately there is little we can do accept stand by and watch our kids grow into undisaplined, unruley and, more likely than not an irresononsible adult. An adult who more often than not ends up using drugs, comminting major crimes and ends up in prison and why, because parents today aren't allowed to use proper disabline like they did when I was growing up.

I say, "Screw the laws! If you child gets out of control, turn them over your knee and bust that little ass they carry on them".  I promise you it will only sting for a few minutes and it'll certainly work in straightening their acts up.

I'll Admit It
Mood:  a-ok
Topic: Random Thoughts

I'll admit it, as is demonstrated by previous entries, I'm a bit of an opinionated person.  There are certain things that really piss me off in this life, stupid people, religion, politis and, doctors in particular and I don't have any hesitation in making my views public.

I know that many pople find me to be a bitter person because of the way I feel about those things but hey, isn't this (the U.S.A) a country where not only there is a freedom of speech and expression but, we are all entitled to our own opinions?

This nation was built on the assumption that we all may be heard no matter what others may think of us as a result and, I exercise that.

Having said that I'll apologize to those who feel offended by my views as it is not my intent to bring any of you personal injury or discomfort.

About Doctors
Mood:  irritated
Topic: Things that Irritate me

Call me crazy but I feel that the Medical Field is full of deceit.

Doctors, (Physicians and Psychiatrists) swear to this little thing they call the Hippocratic Oath. By swearing to this oath they agree to save and preserve life to the best of their ability.  I seriously question that.  What is it that both types of doctors have in common? They both prescribe drugs. One prescribes them for Mental Health problems and the other prescribes drugs for the body. It cannot be argued that both doctors are treating the mind and body with said drugs.

ALL drugs, no matter what their purpose affect the brain and body.  These doctors know what drugs can do to your body and mind yet they prescribe them.  When talking about addictions or abuse of drugs, they focus on a select few; Illegal Narcotics, Alcohol, Tobacco and, a few others and they call them bad because they know what they can do to you.  However when it comes to other drugs and what effects they can have on the human, they seem to go instantly stupid.  They say, “We give you these drugs to help your body to operate efficiently” but what they don’t tell you is the side effects that those drugs can cause.

For example; your doctor prescribes medications to treat you for Asthma, They’ll ask you if you have Glaucoma and even though you say, “Yes”, they prescribe those Asthma medications knowing that they cause and worsen Glaucoma.

I could go on for hours like this but the simple fact is that Doctors PRACTICE medicine and we are their Lab Rats

MY Thoughs on the Bible
Mood:  sharp
Topic: Thoughts about Religion

I find myself more and more asking the question; “Just how accurate is the Bible?”

It is claimed by nearly all Christians that the Bible is without a single doubt the Holy Inspired Word of God.  However there is great argument between Christian Sects as to exactly how it is so inspired.  Some claim that it was written by God himself while others claim it was written by men whose hand was held by God while they wrote their texts. Yet others claim that God spoke to them in dreams and visions which they then wrote down in text. Does anyone alive today know the truth of it? I seriously question the intelligence of the person that says that they do.

In addition while it might be said that the Bible is the inspired word of God it can also be said that it was indeed written by man, without argument. BUT exactly who decided on which Texts, Gospels and Stories would be included in the Bible, was it God or was it Man?  The obvious answer is “Man”. The Bible wasn’t even put together until after the death of Jesus and, it was put together by a group of men who poured over a huge collection of texts, Gospels and, other stories that were written down and passed down through time. It is said that there are so many of said texts, gospels and, stories that if put together they’d fill every shelf in a modern day Library. If the Bible is the inspired word of God why would he assign man to compile it for him?  Exactly how did they decide which texts, gospels and stories to include in it, where they inspired too? Did God tell them what to include and what to leave out?  I have serious doubts that he did. I think it’s more along the lines of what Our Governments do when communicating with its citizenry, they only tell us what they want us to hear or know.

Another sticking point for me is that I don’t know exactly what to make of what’s written in the Bible anymore. There are hundreds of translations in circulation around the world now.  The Bible is translated into hundreds of languages and dialects therein. Each Christian Sect uses their own chosen version of it and bases their belief system on that version. Then you have the problem of people who think they know what their version says but being human they misinterpret and teach the wrong message. With all the translating going on, the misinterpreting of scripture and all done by HUMAN HAND and MOUTH, how accurate can a book that’s edited by imperfect humans be?

I personally feel that the source of spiritual growth should not come from a single and quite obviously questionable source.

Hugs
Mood:  hug me
Topic: Thoughts about Life

Hugs are a form of communication whether people realize it or not.  A hug can say and mean more that the spoken word.

Though words can and do bring comfort to a person a hug who gets hugged feels its benifits instantly and deeply.  Some hugs say, "Hi, I'm so happy to see you".  Others say things like, "I'm so sorry", "Good bye", "Congratulations" and, so many other things without a single word being uttered.

In my opinion the most powerful and meaningful hug is that one that says, "I Love you!".  Every human being, whether they admit it or not needs to feel that kind of hug once in a while.  It makes them feel wanted, needed and loved.  It also makes them want to love someone.  To feel the love that comes from such a hug brings happiness, joy and well-being to a person, especially if that person is feeling extremely lonely and unloved.

I sure could use one of those right now :(

Dad's Gift
Mood:  special
Topic: Humorous Thoughts

It can be said that my dad's greatest gift was life itself.  It could also be argued that his greatest gift to me was that he took care of my every need as a child. Or, one could claim that his love was and is the greatest gift of all but, I think there is one thing my dad gave me that surpasses even those; "Laughter".

I love to hear him laugh.  Even as a child I'd pull his finger just to hear him laugh about the gigantic farts that he'd let fly.  No matter how corney or strange my jokes were, he'd laugh at them.  He even laughed at most of his own jokes.  The sound of his laughter did and still does fill me with warmness and joy and the feelings of love that I know he has for me.

He also passed that laughter down to me; he taught me to laugh at the silly things in life and gave me the ability to make the serious thing sound silly.  Like my dad, I like making people laugh, it not only makes me feel better but it also makes them feel better.  Laughter is the best medicine and my dad has overdosed me with it and taught me how to share it with others.

For that I'll be eternally thankful to him.  Dad, I love you, you old fart,

Now pull my finger!

Why Do They Lie
Mood:  irritated
Topic: Thoughts about Religion

Christianity teaches that folloers of Christ aren't to tell a lie.  They teach and know that God ABHORES the lie and the father of them, Satan.

A lie is a lie, no matter its size.  Whether it's a "little White Lie" or a "Whopper", its still a lie nonetheless.  So, knowing that whay do they willing lie to their children?

They tell their kids stories about how important it is for them to be good little rug rats around Christmas time or Santa Clause won't come vistit them.  The adult knows that Santa is not real yet they do their best to convince their children that he is.  They do the same with the Easter Bunny too.

They'll argue that those charactors are only make believe and ficticious but the stories that Mom and Dad tell the kiddies sure do convice the little ones that they are true.  In my mind that's when they become a lie.  So,

Why tell a lie to a kid when you're not supposed to?

Are They Ignorant or just Unexucated?
Mood:  d'oh
Topic: Thoughts about Life

I really can't figure some people out.  I quite often run across people with normal or, "Perfect" vision that seem to have a more serious problem then I do.  I can't figure if they are ignorant or just don't know better.

I can't count the amount of times that I've encounterd people on the street who when I'm alone tend to shout at me while talking.  They think that because I can't see them that I'm also deaf I suppose.  If I'm with another person who is sighted and encounter a stranger and that stranger wants to speak to me they tend to ask the sighted person standing next to me, placing me in the their person roll.  "Is he toally Blind", Does he feed or clothe himself" and, my favorite, "ist that his dog that's guiding him?"

It rally makes me shake my head in amazment sometimes.

Visiting A Restaraunt
Mood:  silly
Topic: Humorous Thoughts

One day in the summer of 2005 while down in St. Petersburg, Florida I, in the company of my Seeing Eye Dog, Asa, went into this rather nice restaruant.  After standing at the front for some 10 minutes waiting to be seated I became a bit anxious to sit down.  Since nobody had approached me as yet I picked my Seeing Eye Dog up by his taile and began spinning around in circles.

All of a sudden I had attracted the attention of virtually everyone within sight of me including the Manager of the restaruant and its head waiter who both came skuttling across the dinning room shouting, "Sir, sir, what are you doing there sir, you shouldn't be spinning that dog by the tail like that".  To which I replied, "But I'm only having a look around trying to find a table to sit at".

Of couse this is not true, it's just a joke, I'd never do such a thing to any animal let alone one with whome I'm so closely attached.  It's just an example of a Blind man making light of his own impairment.

What is it?
Mood:  quizzical
Topic: Random Thoughts

Why is it that people are so shallow?  Why do they tend to judge another based on their outward appearance?  As a blind person I can state without doubt that your outter appearance doesn't say anything about who you are.  Unfortunately society thinks otherwise.

The best looking Super Model can have the ugliest personality and be a very hateful person while the person who looks like he or she's been beaten with an ugly stick is the most beautiful person inside.

It just doesn't make sense to me.
